Mrs. Cochran's Lake

I am on some sort of holiday with my classmates. We have all travelled to a camping resort that looks like it belongs in a Friday the 13th movie. The weather is between seasons (Summer and Fall) and cannot make up it's mind whether to be hot or chilly. Our cabins are on the shore of a big dark lake. Our teacher is with us, she is my high school home economics teacher, Mrs. Cochran. She is a funny, no nonsense lady and smart as a whip. She was a housewife that went back to college, got her degree, and started teaching. I have nothing but admiration for her. She was also tough. My schoolmates are a mixture of my friends and the cast of the Harry Potter movies. There is a small boy that has a very gentle frail personality, and then there is the bully Draco Malfoy. For some reason we all have to abandon camp and get across the lake. We try to do this in the big yellow school bus that brought us to the camp but it sinks. We are all left on our own to get across the lake. Draco Malfoy decides to help the little kid, who keeps sinking in the lake. Our teacher does her best to get us all out of the water, but I get the feeling not everyone makes it. I remember not having the courage to rescue the little boy and thinking that Draco was not such a bad guy.

Here the dream turns into another subject. We are all looking at the ruins of the camp from the big flood, tand then I am at my grandmothers house. My grandfather is working in a run down green house, and I can smell the weeds in the grass. My grandmother is running a nursery or mail order flower business. The major feelings I get are of decay and love for my grandparents.
