Break In and Revenge

I'm walking along the sidewalk with a few friends. There's a group of little kids that we pass and we do something to them, though I don't recollect what. It wasn't a nice thing to do. We continue on and for some reason I stop and decide to go into one of the houses. It's a typical suburban subdivision with some fairly nice houses on the street. I open the door and walk into the place. The handle on the door is very loose and it looks like a few screws are missing from it. This is only apparent from the inside of the house. Outside, the handle looked normal and solid. There is a couch with its back facing me and a television. I walk past and turn down a hallway. Near the end of the hallway, there is a slightly open door. I walk through the door and am amazed at what I see. The room is covered with weapons. There are shotguns on the bed, handguns on the wall, an uzi on the floor alongside an AK-47. I pick up some of the weapons and look at them. Most are not loaded which I'm pleased about. Suddenly it occurs to me that this is not the type of person I want to realize his place has been broken into. He could very well hunt me down and shoot me. I put the guns back as close to the position I found them as possible. Then I walk back into the foyer and attempt to fix the handle. As I walk past the couch, I notice there is someone asleep on it. It's a woman of approximately 20 years of age. She awakes in a groggy state and questions me. I don't recall how I bluff my way through being there, though it doesn't really seem to matter because it's clear something is wrong with the woman. Her mental state is not as it should be. So she doesn't seem to care that I'm present. I continue fixing the handle on the door and eventually she walks over and asks what I'm doing. I tell her I'm fixing the handle. She is intrigued and continues to hover while I finish my work. After fixing the handle, I begin to wipe down all the places I might have touched with a paper towel. As I am preparing to leave, she asks where I'm going and if she can come along. It is clear to me at this point that I'm not going to be able to leave without her tagging along. This is unacceptable. I call a few of my friends over to help me out with the situation. One of them takes the woman with them and I wait at the door with my other friend. We are waiting for them to get out of sight before we make a break for it. At that point, someone walks down the stairs and passes by us, apparently not knowing that we're standing there. It's a older man, most likely the father of the household. At this point, I break out of the house. I don't care if the woman sees me, I need to get out so the father doesn't know I'm there. When we run out, the father hears a noise and proclaims it to the household.

His son comes blazing out of his room (the room I had visited earlier, apparently he returned while I was fixing the handle). He's got the uzi in his hand and starts firing at his father. Apparently their relationship wasn't a very good one and this somehow set the son off. The father dives over the couch and pulls out a shotgun. He fires back at his son, though misses. The son flees back into his room to grab another gun. He picks up the AK-47 and fires at his father who was running in after him. Click. There is no ammo in the gun. He throws down the AK-47 and frantically grabs any gun nearby. The gunfight continues. Somehow at this point, I find myself trapped in the son's room during this fight. I dive out the window into some bushes. The son comes leaping out after me (not in pursuit, but in a desire to flee his father). I hang out in the bushes right by the window in hopes that the father will run right by me. It works initially, but I see the father stop and look around. I'm hoping he doesn't see me in the bushes, but I know he will. Sure enough, he spots me and takes aim with his shotgun. I start moving through the bushes, hoping the son hears what's going on and takes out his father. Things are getting pretty desperate for me as the father almost has me cornered. Before he can fire his shotgun at me, his son hits him with a bullet. The father goes down, but manages to squeeze off a few rounds at the son, killing him. I think of the great fortune that has befallen us. Both witnesses to my break-in are dead. I quickly flee the scene with my friends. On the way back I'm walking with my girlfriend who had joined the group. She's a very attractive blonde woman. I pick her up and carry her over my shoulder. She protests a bit, but she is really enjoying it. We have a great relationship and I consider myself very lucky. A few days later it comes to light that the father didn't die. Not only didn't he die, he had a small camera hidden in his shoe which filmed the whole thing. Now we realize that we're fugitives. The father has made no secret of the fact that he wants to kill us. He isn't interested in justice. He's interested in revenge.

A couple of years have passed and myself and the group have gone into hiding. We have a small cove on an island that we live in. The cove is accesible only by walking through some water. The tide tends to focus on this cove and bring in whatever is dumped at a certain spot on the island. In order to get food in to us, we drop the food off a cliff at that certain spot and it comes into our cove with the tide. Whenever we go out, we have to be careful about being seen and recognized. The island seems fairly well removed from that subdivision on the mainland, so we don't worry to much. I head over to the cove with a bottle of wine I've scavanged. Nick is in the cove along with my blonde girlfriend. We've had a falling out since the whole fugitive thing began and she is more interested in Nick these days. She likes to flaunt this at me.

Today I'm going into the town to attend a sort of bazaar. I disguise myself fairly well and take a look at the wares that are available. While going around the bazaar I see the father! This is not good at all. I run into another guy from our group and tell him about my encounter with the father. He's very concerned and suggests we get back to the cove and warn the others. We sneak back to the cove and there is Nick with my ex-girlfriend and some other girl he's brought to the cove. I'm not happy that he's just let an outsider know about our secret cove, but more importantly I need to tell him about the father I ran into. He's got my ex-girlfriend in his lap and they're kissing. I run over to them and explain that the father is in town and we need to think about fleeing again. Nick and his girlfriend are mad and they accuse me of making up that story to try and split them up. I insist that it's the truth, but they'll have none of it. I'm becoming more and more concerned that our hideout has been compromised. A black woman enters the cove and explains that she can help us out. She is a slave for the father and was disappointed we didn't help her escape those few years ago during our break-in, but she has no love for him and wants to help us if she can. She suggests a negotiation meeting with the father to try to clear things up. She seems confident she can help, so we decide it's probably the best course of action.

We start to question our decision when we're tied up, hoods placed on us, and shoved in the back of a pickup truck. The truck drives us to a secret location where we're sat down in specific spots. There is a name in front of us. A phony name we come to find out. The father sits with his back to us in front of us. He begins to ask questions about the night we broke into his place. He blames us for the death of his son and is interested in who's responsible for what that evening. We're all pretty much certain he's going to kill us, but things are arranged in an odd way for that. He is trying to remain unbiased about things. At this point, I notice that the father is Christopher Walken. This adds to his menacing character. The interrogation goes on for quite some time. Paula walks in the room at some point and apologizes for being late. She very matter of factly says she's sorry for the break in and hopes he can forgive us. The father tells her that an apology is not good enough. Eventually Nick decides he's had enough of this farce. He turns his name tag around and writes his real name on it. I follow suit and do the same. I'm feeling very guilty for what has happened and agree to pretty much whatever the father wants. Eventually he tells us that we must die. He passes out some incense sticks to each person and we wonder how we're going to meet our end. He tells us to light the incense and that those are our ashes. It becomes clear to us that he is going to spare us and treat each person's incense ash as the ashes of that person. We are all very grateful. Afterward I am feeling very tired. I look for a spot where I can rest. For the first time I notice that Elizabeth is there. I'm not really sure why she's there because she's not a part of the group. The father walks over to me and points out Elizabeth. He tells me that she saved me from a lot of harm. Oddly enough, this relates to money. Apparently she set up the bill for a meal which was supposed to be very high for me because I missed a lot of questions and made it much cheaper. The monetary piece seems fairly trivial now, but it was a huge deal in the dream. I walked over to Elizabeth and gave her a big hug. I was in tears as I thanked her for everything. Then I went back to the room where I was going to sleep. Elizabeth followed me there and it was clear that she was interested in me. She lay down next to me and we chatted for awhile. The next day the father was asking if people would help with his application that was having troubles. I was amiable to working on that, even if no pay was involved. I still felt a deep debt was due the father. Other people in the group actually refused to assist. I was shocked at this, after he had spared their lives the night before. That was pretty much when I woke up.
